Function
ECOPIREN® flame retardants decompose at 330°C with water vapors release.
Mg(OH)2 = MgO + H2O
This decomposition is accompanied by significant endothermic effect, thus adsorbing energy during combustion process, deflecting energy from the burning surface and lowering temperature.
High temperature of decomposition and high level of endothermic effect make suitable to use ECOPIREN® in polymers with different temperatures of processing without fear of untimely decomposition during processing.

The problem of high rates filling of ECOPIREN® flame retardants in polymer matrix without losses of mechanical characteristics of end-products may be successfully solved by using of different types of surface treated marks of ECOPIREN.
The surface treatment provides additional valuable properties:
- High loading rates (up to 70%)
- Improved heat aging properties of polymer matrix
- Improved water resistance during storage (due to lowering of water vapor adsorption)
- Easing of particles dispersion in the polymeric matrix
- Mechanical properties enhancement
- Low viscosity of polymer matrix
- Increased productivity
- Improved thermal stability of polymer matrix
